At 8:36 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and extremely heavy rain.
Thunderstorm Location: From areas west of Ottawa to south of Ottawa.
Motion: Moving southeastward or eastward near 40 km/h
Rain: Exceeding 100 mm in some areas.
Discussion: Radar estimates indicate 50 to 125 mm of rain has fallen across the region. An area of thunderstorms will continue to track across portions of the Ottawa region this evening, adding to significant rainfall that has already fallen today.
