Waterspout Watch In Effect

Conditions are favourable for the development of waterspouts early Sunday morning through Sunday night. There is the potential that the risk of waterspouts will continue into Monday as well.

Waterspouts sometimes appear as funnel clouds with swirling water visible near the surface.

Waterspouts are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. Under favourable conditions, this weak rotation could intensify and become a tornado.
