Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 4:32 p.m. ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing heavy rain.

Locations: Upper Ohio to Lapland

Maximum rainfall rates: locally 25 to 35 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Time span: until early this evening.

Remarks: Satellite and radar imagery indicate a line of thunderstorms stretching from Upper Ohio to Lapland, and is moving slowly to the northeast. Heavy downpours are associated with these thunderstorms.

Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
