Yellow Warning - Storm Surge

Storm surge is expected early Friday morning to Friday afternoon in Herschel Island.

The highest water levels are expected to reach 20 cm above highest astronomical tide on Friday morning and may cause moderate flooding. These conditions can cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.

This warning is issued when high water levels pose a threat to coastal regions due to tides, storm surge and/or waves.
