Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.
Hazards: Tornadoes. Up to tennis ball sized hail. Wind gusts to 110 km/h. Locally heavy rainfall.
Timing: This afternoon and this evening.
Additional Information: Scattered thunderstorms will develop this afternoon along a trough of low pressure situated near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border. Any thunderstorms that do develop are expected to quickly intensify as they track northeastward. Tornadoes, large hail, damaging wind gusts, and heavy rain are possible. The tornado risk will diminish in the late evening hours, but severe thunderstorm activity will continue toward the Manitoba border through the night.
