Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
What: Wind gusts up to 90 to 100 km/h. Up to ping pong ball sized hail. Heavy rain with amounts possibly exceeding 30 mm.
When: Beginning early evening.
Additional information: Thunderstorms over Lower Michigan may track into the region early this evening.

Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
