Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce a tornado.
What: Wind gusts of 90 km/h. Up to ping pong ball sized hail. Locally heavy rainfall. Risk of landspout tornadoes.
When: This afternoon and evening.
Additional information: A line of scattered thunderstorms and severe thunderstorms have developed over west-central Saskatchewan. These thunderstorms have a history of producing funnel clouds.
Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs or toss debris short distances.
Treat any funnel cloud sighting seriously. Should a funnel cloud develop nearby, prepare to take shelter. These funnel clouds usually appear with little or no warning.
