Yellow Warning - Storm Surge

This warning is in effect for parts of the coast due to the following hazard(s): - Higher than normal water levels

Storm surge will continue to affect Herschel Island at times until Wednesday and may cause moderate flooding.

Water levels are expected to reach 20 to 30 centimeters above highest astronomical tide between 1 AM and 6 AM MST tonight. Water levels will also be 10 to 20 centimetres above highest astronomical tide at high tide this afternoon.

High water levels will return for each successive high tide until Wednesday morning.

These conditions may cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.

This warning is issued when high water levels pose a threat to coastal regions due to tides, storm surge and/or waves.
