Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 12:29 a.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.

This line of thunderstorms is located about 150 kilometres northwest of Matagami and is moving southeast at 60 kilometres per hour. These thunderstorms produce many lightning strikes. The firefighters fighting the fires in the area are in the path of these thunderstorms.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
