Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 11:30 a.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location: An area from Fort Irwin to Palmer Rapids, extending southeast to Kaladar.

Motion: Moving southeast at 30 km/h

Hazards: Wind: strong (90 - 100 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: heavy (25 - 50 mm)

Locations in the Path: Palmer Rapids, Maynooth, Griffith, Bancroft, Denbigh, Cardiff, Plevna, Cloyne, Northbrook, Flinton

Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
