Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

What: Wind gusts up to 100 km/h. Up to ping pong ball sized hail. Heavy rain with amounts possibly exceeding 30 mm.

When: This afternoon and evening.

Additional information: Thunderstorms may quickly develop over the area today. Strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain are possible with these thunderstorms.

Local utility outages are possible. There is a risk of injury.

Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
