Details

An extended period of very warm to hot weather continues.
Locations: Upper Lake Melville, Eagle River, and Postville - Makkovik to Cartwright.
Time span: continuing until tomorrow or Wednesday.
Maximum daytime temperatures: 28 to 32 degrees Celsius, except cooler in coastal seabreezes. Minimum overnight temperatures: 16 to 20 degrees Celsius.
Remarks: A prolonged period of daytime heat, coupled with elevated nighttime temperatures, is expected to persist. The warmest conditions will occur inland, while afternoon seabreezes will keep temperatures somewhat cooler along parts of the coast where they develop.
Current indications are that most coastal areas will cool off by overnight tonight or Tuesday night but some inland areas could see the heat persist until Wednesday night.
