Orange Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 4:39 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an area of dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain.

There are two severe thunderstorms:

One thunderstorm is located 15 km south of Irvine and is moving toward the southeast at 65 km/h.

The second thunderstorm is located 40 km southeast of Manyberries and is moving toward the southeast at 65 km/h.

Significant damage to buildings and/or trees is likely. Large hail will likely cause significant damage and injury.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
