Details

A significant Fall storm will impact northern Manitoba beginning Friday evening and will persist through the weekend.
The precipitation with this storm will begin as rain for most communities then transition to heavy, wet snow. Current forecast guidance suggests total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are possible, with the highest snowfall accumulations over Brochet and Tadoule Lake. Rainfall totals are forecast to be in the range of 20 to 40 mm.
Strong winds are also forecast, with wind gusts possibly up to 90 km/h. Significantly reduced visibilities in blowing snow are expected when these winds combine with falling snow.
Freezing rain is also likely with this storm, specifically for Lynn Lake, Tadoule Lake, and Brochet.
Conditions will improve on Sunday as the snow tapers off and winds diminish.
