Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 1:53 a.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and very heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location:

From 20 km south of East Braintree to 30 km east of Hadashville to 50 km east of Prawda

Motion: Moving east at 30 km/h

Hazards:

Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: up to quarter size (up to 2.5 cm) Rain: very heavy (50 - 100 mm)

Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Large hail may cause significant damage and injury.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
