Prolonged, heavy rainfall is expected.
Locations: most of mainland Nova Scotia.
Potential rainfall amounts: 30 to 60 mm, with locally higher amounts possible.
Time span: early Sunday morning through Monday afternoon.
Remarks: A developing weather system is expected to bring a prolonged period of rainfall to much of the province. Rainfall rates of 15 mm per hour are possible. In addition, localized rain bands could linger over some areas, leading to higher amounts. Thundershowers may also develop on Sunday and will result in locally higher rainfall amounts.
Yellow level rainfall warnings are in effect for parts of central Nova Scotia and these may be extended as the rainfall pattern becomes better defined.
