Red Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 5:15 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking an extremely dangerous thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, baseball size or greater hail and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location: Southeast of Boissevain

Motion: Moving southeast at 35 km/h

Hazards:

Wind: damaging (90 - 110 km/h) Hail: baseball size or greater (≥ 7 cm) Rain: heavy (15 - 50 mm)

Heavy rain will cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure. Large hail will cause significant damage and injury.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
