Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 5:32 p.m. ADT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing heavy rain.

Locations: Lake Rossignoi to Canaan.

Maximum rainfall rates: locally 25 to 35 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Time span: until early this evening.

Remarks: Satellite and radar imagery indicate a line of thunderstorms stretching from Lake Rossignoi to Canaan, and is moving slowly to the southeast. Heavy downpours are associated with these thunderstorms.

Driving conditions will likely be difficult. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
