Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.

Locations: Bay St. George and Corner Brook and vicinity.

Potential rainfall rates: locally 20 to 30 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Time span: this evening.

Remarks: An intense thunderstorm has developed just northeast of the Port au Port Peninsula. This storm is tracking eastward at about 50 km/h and has the potential to be severe with heavy rainfall rates.
