The first snowfall of the season is expected for much of Alberta, and may affect holiday travel.
Rain will change to snow today in West-Central Alberta, and for much of the province on Saturday or Saturday night.
By the end of the day Saturday, snow will accumulate over much of Central and Northern Alberta, with heavier snowfall amounts over West-Central Alberta. A snowfall warning has been issued where snowfall amounts are expected to have more significant impacts.
Snow will move southwards Saturday night and continue to affect areas south of Calgary on Sunday. At this time, only light snow is expected in Calgary and areas to its east, but more significant snowfall may occur against the Southern Alberta foothills as well as areas along the US border including the Cypress Hills. Prepare for changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
