Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.

Locations: Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander and vicinity.

Potential rainfall rates: locally 30 to 40 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Time span: this evening.

Remarks: An area of thunderstorms is currently tracking northeastward across central and northeastern Newfoundland. These storms have the potential to become severe.
