Special Weather Statement In Effect

A prolonged period of rain is continuing.

Locations: Channel-Port aux Basques and vicinity.

Total rainfall: 40 to 60 mm, with locally higher amounts possible.

Time span: continuing through Tuesday.

Remarks: A slow-moving frontal boundary is expected to bring a period of prolonged rainfall. Embedded thunderstorms may develop over some areas, producing locally heavier rainfall with rates of 10 to 15 mm per hour.

Water pooling on roads may make travel difficult in some locations. Localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas.
