Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 6:23 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.

This thunderstorm is located 25 km south of Grande Prairie and is moving slowly northward.

The main threat with this thunderstorm will be heavy rain.

Some travel delays are likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
