Yellow Warning - Rainfall

Heavy rain is occurring.

Locations: western, central, and northeastern Newfoundland.

Total rainfall: 50 to 70 mm, except potentially more than 80 mm locally in areas of heaviest rain.

Time span: until early Thursday morning in western and central areas, and until Thursday afternoon in the northeast.

Remarks: Rainfall rates of up to 10 mm per hour are occurring over some locations.

Water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts.
