Yellow Warning - Storm Surge

Storm surge will continue to affect Herschel Island at times until Wednesday and may cause moderate flooding.

Water levels are expected to be 20 to 30 centimeters above Highest Astronomical Tide Tuesday and Wednesday mornings during high tide.

Water levels are expected to recede on Thursday.

These conditions may cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.

This warning is issued when high water levels pose a threat to coastal regions due to tides, storm surge and/or waves.
