Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Locations: Terra Nova and vicinity.
Potential rainfall rates: locally 20 to 30 mm per hour in thunderstorms.
Potential wind gusts: up to 80 km/h in thunderstorms.
Time span: this afternoon and early this evening.
Remarks: Thunderstorms have developed over the Terra Nova region and are expected to be slow-moving, increasing the risk of localized heavy rainfall and flooding. Small hail is also possible.
