Yellow Warning - Storm Surge

A multi day storm surge event will continue for Herschel Island.

Moderate flooding is expected at each high tide from today until early next week, with the highest water levels reaching 25 to 40 cm above highest astronomical tide in the mornings and afternoons.

These conditions will cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.

This warning is issued when high water levels pose a threat to coastal regions due to tides, storm surge and/or waves.
