Details

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
Location: Western Saskatchewan
Timing: Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Hazards:
- 3-4 cm hail. -100 km/h wind gusts. - Locally heavy downpours. - A tornado or two cannot be ruled out.
Remarks: A developing low pressure system over southern Alberta will lead to scattered thunderstorm development this afternoon.

Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Fast-moving and rapidly rising water can sweep vehicles away and damage infrastructure.
Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
