Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 5:19 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and very heavy rain.

This severe thunderstorm is located 85 km northeast of Fort McMurray and is moving slowly towards the west.

Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
