Special Weather Statement In Effect

Significant rainfall is possible.

Locations: the Avalon Peninsula.

Additional rainfall: 5 to 10 mm with locally higher amounts in heavier rain.

Time span: until this afternoon.

Remarks: Most areas have already received 30 to 40 mm with some localized areas seeing as high as 50 mm since yesterday evening. Rain is expected to taper to showers or drizzle this afternoon.

Water pooling on roads may make travel more difficult in some areas. Localized flooding may occur in low-lying areas.

Consider adjusting travel plans to avoid the most adverse conditions.
