Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing heavy rain.
Locations: parts of northern Nova Scotia.
Potential rainfall rates: locally 25 to 50 mm per hour in thunderstorms.
Time span: until this evening.
Remarks: The storms are developing over higher terrain are expected to be slow-moving, increasing the risk of localized heavy rainfall and flooding.
