Yellow Watch - Tornado

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.

What: - Tornadoes - Up to tennis ball sized hail - 100 to 120 km/h wind gusts - Locally heavy rain

When: - This afternoon and evening

Remarks: - Thunderstorms will develop along a cold front sweeping through southeastern Manitoba. The cold front will exit the province late this evening.

Significant damage or destruction to infrastructure, homes and the natural environment is possible.

Tornado watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.
