Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.

Locations: Bay St. George to Corner Brook and vicinity.

Total rainfall: 5 to 10 mm, except possibly more than 25 mm in thunderstorms.

Potential wind gusts: up to 70 km/h in thunderstorms.

Time span: until early this morning.

Remarks: An area of thunderstorms over western Newfoundland are tracking eastward and have the potential to become severe.
