Details

A significant fall storm will impact northern Saskatchewan beginning on Friday and will persist through Saturday.
The precipitation with this storm will begin as rain before transitioning over to heavy, wet snow. Current guidance suggests that the highest snowfall accumulations will likely be for the regions of Cree Lake - Key Lake, Uranium City - Camsell Portage, Fond-du-Lac - Stony Rapids, and Wollaston Lake - Collins Bay, where total amounts of 25 to 50 cm are possible.
Strong winds are also expected with this storm on Saturday, with wind gusts of 60 to 80 km/h possible. Reduced visibility in blowing snow may occur when these winds combine with the falling snow.
For southern and eastern regions the rain may not change to snow until Saturday. For these regions, total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm is possible.
Conditions will improve Saturday night and Sunday as the snow tapers off and winds diminish.
