Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, hail and heavy rain.

What: Local rainfall amounts of 50 millimetres or more. Wind gusts up to 90 kilometres per hour

When: Today into this evening

Additional information: A trough is currently causing showers and thunderstorms in these areas. Some of these thunderstorms may cause heavy rain locally. Thunderstorms will become more frequent this afternoon and could become severe, locally giving heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts.

Nautical activities may be hazardous due to sudden, severe wind gusts over bodies of water.
