At 6:10 p.m. CDT (7:10 p.m. EDT), Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.

Thunderstorm Location: 35 km west of Fishbasket Lake

Motion: Moving quickly to the east at 80 km/h

Hazards: Wind: Damaging (90-110 km/h) Hail: Toonie to Golf Ball Size (2.5 to 4.5 cm) Rain: Heavy (30 to 50 mm)

Locations In the Path: Fishbasket Lake, Mameigwess Lake Otoskwin-Attawapiskat River Provincial Park

Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.
