A multi-day storm surge event is possible for Herschel Island this weekend.
There is the potential for moderate flooding during high tide Saturday morning, with the highest water levels reaching up to 20 cm above highest astronomical tide. Similar high water levels are possible on both Sunday morning and Monday morning. Water levels are expected to recede Monday night.
These conditions can cause damage to infrastructure near the coast, including boats beached or anchored along the shoreline.
