At 12:32 a.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, up to quarter size hail and heavy rain.
This line of thunderstorms is located 80 kilometres south of Waskaganish and is moving southeast at 60 kilometres per hour.
These thunderstorms produce many lightning strikes. The firefighters fighting the fires in the region are located in the path of these storms.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
