Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Hazards: Hail to toonie sized. Wind gusts up to 110 km/h. Locally heavy rain.

Timing: Overnight.

Additional Remarks: Thunderstorms have developed as a trough of low pressure crosses southern and central Saskatchewan. This watch area will expand as thunderstorm activity continues through the night.

Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.

Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles.

Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
