Orange Warning - Rainfall

Very heavy rainfall is occurring and is expected to continue.

Locations: Cape Breton

Additional rainfall: 40 to 60 mm, potentially higher in some areas.

Time span: now until Monday morning.

Remarks: A slow moving weather system is bringing heavy rainfall and scattered thunderstorms. Rainfall rates of 20 mm per hour or higher are expected in some localities.

Localized flooding is likely. Some roads may become impassable. Damage to some critical infrastructure is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant impacts are expected due to rainfall amounts.
