Yellow Warning - Severe Thunderstorm

At 8:02 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a cluster of severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts, loonie to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain.

These thunderstorms are located approximately from 50 km southwest of Mildred Lake to approximately 90 km southwest of Fort McMurray and are moving towards the east at 35 km/h.

Heavy rain may cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility.

Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.

Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.
