A heat event continues.
What: Maximum temperatures of 30 to 38 degrees Celsius. Minimum temperatures of 20 to 26 degrees Celsius. Humidex values of 38 to 45.
When: Continuing into Wednesday evening. May continue into Thursday or Friday for areas near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
Additional information: Today will mark the peak of this heat event. Maximum temperatures near 38 degrees Celsius are expected this afternoon for some areas over southwestern Ontario, around the Greater Golden Horseshoe and eastern Ontario.
Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high-risk category.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
