Yellow Watch - Severe Thunderstorm

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts.

Locations: western New Brunswick.

Potential rainfall rates: locally 10 to 20 mm per hour in thunderstorms.

Potential wind gusts: near 90 km/h in thunderstorms.

Time span: until this evening.

Remarks: A line of thunderstorms has developed over northern Maine and is quickly tracking southeastward at 70 km/h. Another severe line has developed over southern Maine. These storms have the potential to be severe as they cross the border.
