The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Garfield County in southern Utah...

* Until 445 PM MDT.

* At 148 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across Pine Creek Box Canyon, likely resulting in water moving downstream through Upper Escalante River Canyon. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen on top of heavy rain that fell earlier today. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot canyons, and normally dry washes.
