* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Nueces River below Uvalde.

* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Disastrous widespread lowland flooding reaches several homes in Crystal City. Roads, fencing, and any improvements in the flood plain are damaged. Flow is generally 1/2 mile wide in the flood plain and livestock should be moved from vulnerable areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 21.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM CDT Wednesday was 21.9 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 22.2 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall tomorrow evening. It will rise to 19.6 feet early Friday morning.
