A strong system is expected to move through the area Sunday night into Monday. Temperatures below freezing combined with snow levels below 1,000 ft are indicative of snowfall for upper elevations. Mid-level southeasterly flow suggests potential for White Pass to be sheltered from much of the precipitation, but would allow for ample moisture to make it into the Haines Borough, falling as snow at the border. The winter storm watch will be upgraded to a winter storm warning for the upper elevations of the Haines Highway near Haines Customs, and replaced with a winter weather advisory for the Klondike Highway near White Pass.
