* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following areas, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Stokes, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes and Yadkin, southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Bland, Carroll, Floyd, Giles, Grayson, Montgomery, Patrick, Pulaski, Smyth, Tazewell and Wythe, and southeast West Virginia, including the following area, Mercer.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow-moving showers with efficient rainfall rates will continue through this evening. Combined with recent heavy rains across some areas, this could cause some localized flash flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
