Special Weather Statement

At 518 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms from Pyramid Lake south to southern Lyon and Mineral counties. These storms will continue to slowly move to the northeast through the early evening.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include... Reno, Carson City, Fallon, Lovelock, Gerlach, Gardnerville, Virginia City, Pyramid Lake, Lahontan Reservoir, Topaz Lake, Sparks, Gardnerville Ranchos, Fernley, Dayton, Johnson Lane, Hawthorne, Yerington, Wingfield Springs, Cold Springs, and Golden Valley.
