The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for... Neuse and Bay Rivers... Pamlico Sound... Pamlico and Pungo Rivers...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 244 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 8 nm south of Blounts Bay to near Hobucken, moving northeast at 20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts to 40 knots, and small hail.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include... The Vicinity Of Slades Creek, Hobucken, Bath, The Vicinity Of Bath Creek, Mid Point Of South Creek, and The Vicinity Of Pamlico Beach.
