At 857 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain in Colorado City area and locations along the St Charles River in Southwest Pueblo County. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Colorado City and locations along the St Charles River downstream of the Aspen Acres burn scar.
This includes the following streams and drainages... Scroggs Arroyo, Boggs Creek, Muldoon Creek, Saint Charles River, Horse Creek, Salt Creek, Galbeth Creek, Graneros Creek, Huerfano River, Mustang Arroyo, Pinkney Arroyo, Muddy Creek, Greenhorn Creek and Apache Creek.
